GOOD RED
One view of Zimbabwean independence so far, through the lens of a somewhat alternative white life: "neither fish nor fowl nor good red herring," as the saying goes. Public – the Canadian journal of art, culture and politics – commissioned Annie Holmes to write this novella-length memoir.

Editor: Rebecca Garrett. Photographs: Rebecca Garrett, Richie Gunner and assorted unknown figures from the past.
